the grove in delray is a simple modern space but with a touch of flair.  As you enter you're able to peer straight into the kitchen by way of a clear wall where the wine is stored. it's always reassuring as a diner  being able to see where your food is prepared.   the cozy confines of the grove encourages a feeling of ease as a diner. Noise levels are just right where one can maintain a conversation without yelling or repetitions and it is one of my favorite things about dining here. we've been going to the grove the last 3 or so years and noticed it's changes through the times. Nowadays it has expanded to add another bay, Pictured above with its door up. this second half feels like an industrial hip studio apartment now featuring a full bar. So if you're in the mood for either a romantic dinner or a bite at the bar with your friends, the grove has evolved to cater to the whatever style of outing you choose to partake in.

I am going to be honest here, The grove is our favorite restaurant in all of delray. The food here will make your knees buckle and have you humming like a choir singer in a tyler perry movie.  my recommended dishes, if available since the menu changes, are the PORToBELLO mushroom soup w/ goat cheese and nuts, the perfect egg, kurobuta pork entree, and the nutella-filled doughnuts; pictured below.  The only other way I can describe eating here is that you feel like you're in an episode of chopped. The combinations are unique and the more you read into the menu, the more you want to try everything, but alas our tummies can only get so big! So what's the verdict on the food? YOU CANT GO WRONG! one final thing to mention  is the table bread! a dill bread served seconds right out of the oven with a butter that reminds me of france, not to sound pretentious but it is what comes to mind. It's what separates the grove from the other places where the table bread is just a formality. Not at the grove! maximum effort and thought was put into the dill bread and it is why overall the grove stands tall above the rest.

Service has always been great and consistent.  Even coming here a couple times a year we were recognized by the manager when greeting us at the door.  Staff is always attentive, the food always cooked to perfection, and our glasses always filled.

the grove is typically a date night spot for my girlfriend and I. With the two of us ordering 2-3 appetizers, 2 entrees, a dessert, and 2 alcoholic drinks each will usually total to about $140-160 with tip or before tip depending on what's on the menu or what our beverage choice is for that particular night.  In the end, it is a great value and more than worthy of your hard-earned shillings.  I've never walked alway feeling like the food did not justify the amount paid.

The Grove gets 3.5 forks out of 5.  This is only half a fork below the michelin-rated Mourad in san fran. Why? It only comes up short in attentiveness of the wait staff at a michelin-starred establishment; that's nothing to scoff at!  The grove is your local spot Serving up dining that can hang with the "whales" of the culinary world. I truly believe that if the grove maintains its momentum it will one day be  a strong contender for a james beard award. There i've said it!
