The Cook and the Cork
9890 W Sample Rd, Coral Springs, FL 33065
It's finally time for a review! Yippeee! In case you’ve been wondering I have been deep in the trenches of PA school, which means 8-9 hour days of studying on the weekend, and a good 3-5 hours on the weekdays after being in the classroom for most of the day. Anyway! On to the review! Today’s feature is the Cook and the Cork in Coral Springs, Florida. This place is always dishing out something that is unique and eclectic. It is an intimate space, with a wall of wines as well as sake. My preferred spot is at the bar where The wines, sakes, and Japanese accents will keep your eyes busy. Since space is limited I highly recommend reservations via OpenTable, especially on the weekends. This is a happening spot for any south florida foodie in the know.
Let’s move on to the food! Here’s an insider tip: always look at the specials menu! Guaranteed, there is something on there to catch your eyes. on every visit we usually order about 3-4 specials’ items, and share an entrée. My go-to’s are the fried chicken and waffles with a drizzle of ancho-chile syrup, as well as the beet-infused goat cheese cannoli/salad. (both pictured below) These are just a taste of what’s in store for you if you decide to come here., which you must! Dishes will have a bit of influence from all sorts of cuisines. Asian, French, Spanish, Cajun, you name it. The common theme; it’s all delicious! there’s something for everyone and it is a menu that can cater to all sorts of palates. Last but not least, there are plenty of wines, and a sizable list of sakes to top off that meal. Don’t worry beer lovers, you have not been forgotten, there are plenty of craft beers on tap. There is no doubt that careful planning and thought has gone into the prep of every dish at the Cook and the Cork. Presentation, prep, and flavors always bring us back. PS - do not skip the desserts menu!
Service is always consistent, welcoming, and on point. Food has always come out in a timely manner even on a bustling Saturday night. The staff seem natural and without feeling like their hospitality or gratitude is forced. In this department, I do not feel the Cook and the Cork is lacking. Overall, it all feels Natural. one could not ask for more.
The Cook and the Cork gets a 3.5 forks out of 5. This is nothing to sneeze at when it comes to One Guy One Fork’s stringent rating system. This is my favorite restaurant in Coral Springs and it’s the first restaurant to come to mind when hunger strikes in this town. The Cook and the Cork serves up unique dishes with a level of hospitality that complements the complete dining experience. Honestly, it is a breath of fresh air in a town saturated with chains, Italian restaurants and bars. The next time you are craving a damn-good meal without enduring the craziness of being in downtown Fort Lauderdale/Miami, make your way to Coral Springs and give the Cook and the Cork a try. It will most definitely have you wanting to go back again and again.
